Amazing Science-X Challenge 2011 is an international competition held in Singapore which requires students to design and build a stand-alone science exhibit that best explains a physical science phenomenon. The exhibits engage and excite the audience as they express the marvel of science through its fascinating sights and sounds.
This year a team of S7 and S5 students of King’s College was invited to represent Hong Kong to join the competition. Our team investigated the synthesis, conducting properties and the application of an artificial polymer, polyaniline. They developed a system to detect various acidic, alkaline and toxic gases based on the research of polyaniline.
Congratulations to our students, Lui Yat Man, Yuen Kin Hong, Wai Tsun Hong and Chan Ho Wah, in obtaining the Special Mention Prize in the competition. |
