With a view to letting students at King’s College experience the festive atmosphere of Halloween and enhancing their English language skills through activities, the English Department, English Elite Team and English Society organised “King’s Halloween 2017” from 10th to 31st October 2017 with a number of fun-filled and spooky Halloween events for students and teachers to enjoy.

From 10th to 19th October, S.1-S.3 students designed a number of creative Halloween masks and characters together with a short piece of description during their English lessons. Some outstanding artworks showcased demonstrated students’ creativity. On 30th - 31st October, we invited five NET teachers to organise different kinds of exciting Halloween-related mass games like Halloween dance for S.1 and S.2 during lesson time.

The highlight of the Halloween series was definitely the Inter-class Apple Bobbing Competition and Halloween Carnival on 30th and 31st October respectively. Junior form students participated in the competition enthusiastically and five of our teachers also took part in the event. The winners received a certificate and a present from the Principal. “King’s Halloween 2017” reached to its climax with special guests playing “Trick or Treat” and taking snapshots with students. To the students’ surprise, the special guests were our principal, Mr. TANG Kai-chak and some of our teachers. Many students and teachers rushed to get candies from them and take photos.

“King’s Halloween 2017” was successfully held which enabled students to learn English while having fun and get closer with their teachers and the principal. Not only did the students actively participate in all the exciting Halloween games and activities, a lot of teachers also joined the fun with exhilaration.
