Date: 19/11/2015

Name of Organizing Body:
Careers and Life Planning Education Committee

Name of Guest Speaker :
Mr. David Rice, the Admission Manager of Law School in the University of Birmingham

The decision to go to law school is, in itself, not a career choice. Instead, law is a field of study that offers students a wide range of career options which require different skills and exposures.  Because of this, the Careers and Life Planning Education Committee and English Debating Team invited Mr. David Rice, the Admission Manager of Law School in the University of Birmingham to conduct a talk on studying law on 18 November 2015. Apart from focusing on the law programmes, entry requirements for prospective students, and facilities as well as support provided by the University, Mr. Rice also talked about the   career paths and prospects of law students and how to become a lawyer. Not only did this activity interest the English Debaters in our school, it also attracted a number of senior form students who want to pursue a career in legal fields. They all found this talk entertaining and useful when they do their life planning.
