The objectives of the competition are to 
(a) promote the interest of our youth in science and technology,
(b) develop their creativity through better understanding and innovative application of science and technology, and
(c) inspire their intellectual and career interest in science and technology.

The theme of this year's competition is Energy, Engineering & Environment. A team of S5 students of our school investigated the photo-catalyzed polymerization and awarded the First Runner-up. They have found that the rate of polymerization could be altered by the intensity of light and the presence of natural products. Another team of S4 students investigated the photo-induced oxidation of leftovers and obtained the Honorable Mentioned Award.
