Hong Kong Youth Science & Technology Innovation Competition 2015 – 2016

The objectives of the competition are to:

1. strengthen students’ creativity, innovative and practical skills in order to overcome challenges in the future;
2. stimulate students’ imagination in scientific research and invention, and to allow them to put their ideas into practice;
3. arouse students’ interests and raise their standard in science, and to nurture young science talents for the society.

A team of S4 students of our school investigated the Visible light-induced Rust-catalyzed water splitting for hydrogen generation. They have found that the glycerol water mixture in the presence of rust can be transformed into hydrogen gas effectively. Another team of S5 students investigated the chlorophyll cysteine co-catalyzed polymerization of PMMA.
