Hong Kong Youth Science & Technology Innovation Competition 2021 – 2022

The objectives of the competition are to:
(a) strengthen students’ creativity, innovative and practical skills in order to overcome challenges in the future;
(b) stimulate students’ imagination in scientific research and invention, and to allow them to put their ideas into practice;
(c) arouse students’ interests and raise their standard in science, and to nurture young science talents for the society.

A team of S5 students explored the possibility of natural product-assisted nanomaterials synthesis and obtained the First Place Award in the category of “Chemistry and Material Science” and the Emerson Material Science Special Award. Another team of S4 and S5 students was awarded the Honorable Mention in the category of “Energy and Environmental Science” with their project of natural product-promoted water treatment.
