From 25 to 30 June 2016, six students participated in the World Scholar’s Cup 2016 in Bangkok, after qualifying in the regional round in Hong Kong in March. Students from over 150 schools across the world participated in the competition. The Scholar’s Cup with the cute South American ‘Alpaca’ as its mascot, promotes academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, team work and internationality. It tests students’ writing, debate skills and knowledge of the content in the global study topics of History, Science, Art, Literature, Music Current Affairs and a Special Area theme. It also provides opportunities to meet and listen to noteworthy speakers. This year’s theme was ‘An Imperfect World’. They came back with amazing results, obtaining 2 Team Honour medals, 9 gold medals and 14 silver medals in total. The stalwart performance of our students resulted in qualifying them for the ‘Tournament of Champions’ to be held in November 2016 at Yale University in US. The team members of each team are: |
