Name of Organizing Body:

English Department and English Society

Students at King’s College are always encouraged to strengthen their English language skills through activities related to topics that they are interested in including customs and culture around the world. This year, “King’s College Halloween” was proudly presented by the English Department and English Society. From 14 to 28 October 2015, a number of fun-filled and spooky Halloween events were organized for both our students and teachers. Inspired by their English teachers, the S1-S3 students designed a number of creative Halloween masks and characters together with a short piece of description during their English lessons. Some outstanding artworks were showcased which demonstrated students’ spirit of discovery and their ability to innovate. Another Halloween attraction was the Haunted House at the GPR Room from 22 to 23 October. With expert make-up artists and a cast of creepy characters, the attractions at the Haunted House certainly inspired fear for most students in the name of fun and Halloween.

The highlights of the Halloween series were definitely the Inter-class Apple Bobbing Competition and Halloween Snapshots on 27 October and 28 October respectively. Not only did the students actively participate in all the exciting Halloween games and activities, a lot of teachers also joined the fun with exhilaration. “King’s College Halloween” was successfully held which enabled students to learn English while having fun and establish closer relationship with their teachers.
