STUDENT SUPPORT TEAM
The Fig Boy Scheme is a structured, school-wide mentorship program designed to embody and pass on the "King's spirit" while actively cultivating a caring culture within the school community.
The primary objectives of the scheme are:
• To pass on the King’s spirit: Senior students (Fig Brothers) model and instill the school's values, traditions, and ethos in the incoming students.
• To help S1 students adapt to new secondary school life: The program provides crucial social and practical support to ease the transition for new students into the secondary school environment.
• To promote a caring culture in school: The scheme establishes a formalized peer support system that encourages empathy, responsibility, and inter-grade bonding.
The scheme achieves these goals through targeted activities designed for maximum interaction and support:
• S1 Orientation Day: An initial event where mentors welcome new students, introduce them to the school, and begin forming foundational bonds.
• Common Room @ S1 Classrooms: Scheduled presence and interaction within the S1 classrooms to ensure mentors are accessible for daily questions and casual support.
• Lunch with Fig Brothers: Regular, informal shared meals that create a relaxed setting for meaningful conversation, personalized advice, and strengthening the mentor-mentee relationship.
