Our Scouts held the annual troop camp from February 21 to 23 at the Tam Wah Ching Sea Activities Centre in Pak Sha Wan, Sai Kung, during the Lunar New Year holiday. The three‑day, two‑night camp focused on training and skill development. It provided an opportunity for them to put into practice what they had learned in regular troop meetings while also gaining new camping skills such as campsite construction, outdoor cooking, and equipment management. Some members also completed badge assessments, recognizing their progress and achievements.
Although the camp was hosted at a sea activities centre, water activities were not arranged due to seasonal weather. Instead, they embarked on a refreshing countryside hike along the century‑old Mau Ping Ancient Trail and visited the Lions Nature Education Centre. These activities deepened their understanding of heritage preservation and environmental protection, while reinforcing the important Scouting principle of “Leave No Trace.”
One of the highlights of the camp was the evening campfire gathering. Surrounded by the warmth of a blazing fire, our Scouts shared songs, games, and stories, creating a joyful and lively atmosphere that strengthened camaraderie and friendship.
Through this memorable experience, they not only enhanced their Scouting skills but also developed independence, resilience, and teamwork. With the scenic coastal backdrop of Sai Kung, they enjoyed a rewarding and meaningful start to another exciting year of Scouting adventures.
