Name of Organizing Body:
Scouts
Last Saturday, our newly recruited S1 members joined forces with their Scout peers for an exciting outdoor adventure at the Aberdeen Country Park BBQ Site. During the afternoon, this diverse group of scouts stepped out of their comfort zones to master essential wilderness survival skills during a hands-on backwoods cooking session. Together, they tackled the practical challenges of arranging and igniting charcoal safely, as well as kneading and baking fresh bread directly over the open fire, creating a wonderful environment for peer-to-peer mentoring and skills transfer.
This collaborative outdoor initiative yielded profound personal and social outcomes, fostering a deep sense of self-reliance and practical problem-solving as our scouts navigated a kitchen-free environment. By working in mixed-age teams to manage their fire pits and prepare food, the junior recruits and senior scouts practiced seamless communication, delegation, and mutual support.
